Are Maplestory pets worth it?

This friday im going to buy nx. I dont wanna be a nx freak and spend like 25 bucks for a game. But i want to change my hair in maple cause i got stupid pumpkin head hair. But i was also thinking of buying a pet. And the hair coupon and the pet cost more then 10 dollars. So my question is: Are pets really worth it?what can they do? are they fun?Are Maplestory pets worth it?
If you plan to level fast and not die as much I'd recommend going all out for the following:



Pet HP repotter (you don't have to repot, concentrate on training instead)

Pet MP repotter (repots your MP for you, best for mages who use Magic Guard.)

Meso Magnet %26amp; Item pouch - Picks up items and mesos dropped by monsters, but only by ones you killed more than 50% of. Good for training without having to stop to pickup, especially when you are mob attacking and there are mesos/items everywhere.

Scales - Your pet can pickup other peoples kills items, after the no pickup time is over. Good if you train in parties.

Wing boots - You can only have scales OR wing boots, not both. Wing boots mean your pet will walk to the mesos or items, good if you are in one spot killing and mesos fall far away from you. Best for solo.



Once you have a pet, do the quest from Kenta in Aquarium to make it walk as fast as you.



If you don't play maple much and don't want to get high levels, I'd say don't bother getting a pet.Are Maplestory pets worth it?
Pets arent a big deal until higher levels really. You can buy equipment for them that allows them to use potions on you when your hp or mp reaches a certain % and they can loot mesos or items for you. They can be fun at times, especially when you get bored you can just sit around and train them for awhile.



I dont think it would be necessary to buy a pet unless you are wanting the auto-potion or mesos/item loot equips. Otherwise its just a waste of NX.
