Or do you do anything special on Easter as a 'Tradition' in your family for your little ones?
Just want to see what kind of "fun' other Mommies have in store for their guys and gals. We have a HUGE Easter egg hunt in our yard and through our garden. This year I am also inviting my little niece. (Her mommy %26amp; daddy are going thru some issues and I feel she needs some fun). Hubby and I spend all Good Friday night filling Easter eggs with candy, stickers, coins and (homemade coupons such as a night at chuckie cheese, Give 3 toys to charity and Get a toy of your choice (up to $25), A night at the movies and so forth. The coupons are always the hit! lol And there is of course, one golden egg with $5.00 in it. It's fun, the kids love it and so look forward to the easter Bunny visiting their home every year.
I just love Easter, winter is gone, spring is here, everything is coming alive . No more snow! It's just great! lol
How about you? Any traditions or plans, Mommies?
~LynMommies: What 'Special' Easter ideas do you have?
When my two oldest get home from school I'm planning on having all 4 kiddos help me decorate Easter cookies. I spent all morning baking them, now we have to frost and sprinkle our little butts off later.
Friday we're going to the play that our church puts on every year. The kids love it because it involves real animals, so that's always fun.
We're coloring eggs on Saturday, then spending Saturday night letting the kids set up their Easter baskets. They like to put the grass in themselves and pick one or two of their favorite eggs to put in it. After they go to bed we'll be busy filling their baskets.
Sunday morning, you'd swear it was Christmas. They'll wake up and get their baskets then I usually make a big breakfast. Then it's off to church and to grandma's for Easter dinner and an egg hunt.
We might take the kids to the big egg hunt in town, if they feel up for it. Those things get crazy. The one our town puts on has huge prizes. My niece came home with a new bike last year. My daughter got a huge adorable stuffed rabbit and my son got a board game. We might go again this year, weather permitting.
I always go out on Easter. Even did when I didn't have kids. I always dye eggs, make up baskets and treats. Making baskets is my favorite thing to do. I'd take them to church when I didn't have kids.
This year I'm thinking of something different. Not drastic or anything but making cupcakes and decorating them with green sugar, candied eggs, and Peeps. Something my son can help with, if he doesn't eat what I give him.Mommies: What 'Special' Easter ideas do you have?
My son isn't getting an Easter Basket this year... Instead he's going to see the Nickelodeon Live show the weekend after Easter :)
We also have been going to my BFF's house for an Easter Egg Hunt for the past two years.
My family normally has a really good Sunday dinner similar to Christmas and Thanksgiving.
We believe in the religious aspect too, so my uncle who is a pastor usually gives a brief sermon. Then it's a big Easter egg hunt outside and lots of candy! The hunt is usually followed by a few rounds of Hearts.
There are Dad's here too and it's getting rather tiring to see every question addressed to ''mommies'', just letting you know, please consider that there are others here too.
