My boyfriend and I, as well as another couple, are vacationing in San Antonio during the middle of August checking in on a friday and leaving sometime that sunday. We were hoping for some inside information as well as discounts. We are staying at the brand new Courtyard Marriott on the Riverwalk (opening July 2009)
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sa鈥?/a>
It is located on N. St. Mary's Street.
As for attractions we are sure we want to visit the following:
Sea World
The Ripley's attractions
The Buckhorn Musuem and Saloon
The Zoo
Natural Bridge Caverns
Natural Bridge Wildlife Exhibit
The Riverwalk %26amp; Rivercenter mall
%26amp; possibly Fiesta Texas
We were also hoping to visit Market Square if time permits. If you have any information or suggestions on these attractions it would be much appreciated. We are hoping to find some discounts or coupons. We already found the S.A.V.E coupons and those will be helpful, but anything better would be amazing.
As for restuarants we want to try Dick's and the Rainforest Cafe for sure. We were hoping someone could give us some breakfast suggestions. My boyfriend stayed years ago and ate breakfast somewhere where he hap huge portions of eggs and pancakes for a very cheap price. He wasn't sure where it was at, but it was somewhere between the hotel he stayed at and the convention center. He also said he never remembers walking more than a mile while there. I know it is not much information, but I was hoping maybe someone would know where he is talking about. Anyway, we were just hoping for some resuraunt suggestions.
Also, if you know of any romantic spots or anything it would be greatly appreciated. Our friends may leave a day early.Information about San Antonio, Texas?
Howdy,
welcome to San Antonio...heck of a schedule you have planned...But darling there is No way you can do all...you asked for time frames;
Zoo and park-3-6 hours
Fiesta Texas or Sea world- all day..(8-10) hrs..they offer a VIP deal for 225. per person- which includes-park guide, no wait for all rides, meals and beer.
Natural bridge-for the cave and wildlife park 3-6 hrs and does not include drive time
Alamo and river walk and buckhorn- walking, site seeing and take the river barges and plan on eating-6-10 hours...
Weather will be hot...100 degrees for sure..
May I make a few suggestion- check in and do dinner and stroll the riverwalk Friday night, park in rivercity mall you will be on the riverwalk, Alamo is across the street and Ripplys on the same block...take a river barge tour and eat anywhere on the stroll is good..
If your going to do Seaworld or Fiesta Texas plan on getting there when they open in the morning..the vip package is worth it..H.E.B.'s
our local stores have discount tickets...
If you want to do something different- consider Floating down the Guadalupe.About 30 mins up 35 towards Austin is Gruene Texas,
great floating, music, food and fun...old dance halls and winery's..
So party hardy and remember this is a vacation not a marathon...relax and have a rita on me.....happy trails

The Ripley's attractions is not worht your money.
My favorite restuarants is Mi Terria which in located at Market Square.
Also see the show at the River Center Comedy Club.
You must have a diner in the Tower of the Americas.
The Alamo, a must.
Be prepared for a long walk at the Bridge Caverns.
I have not been there since they expanded the River Walk. But it was nice before the change.
