How cranky was your baby after shots?

We go Thursday for them and a well baby visit (8 weeks).



We'll also be in a much larger town, and I have a 40% off one item coupon (good until Friday) I REALLY want to use... Plus a pair of shoes at another store on sale that I've been looking for forever. The two stores are only in that town.



Am I crazy for planning to get those AFTER shots?How cranky was your baby after shots?
My son had no reaction to his 2 month shots. He slept a little more, but that was it.



Besides, if you are going shopping right after wards, if he were to get cranky, it isn't going to happen immediately.



And in my experience, being out and about helps distract babies from the discomfort anyway.



I think you would be just fine to do a little shopping after his shots. I am sure he was just sleep it off.



My husband always wants to be at each of my sons appts, so he takes off work, so we usually spend that afternoon after my sons shots having lunch and catching up on errands and doing some household shopping, and it has never been a problem.



I don't think you are crazy at all, just trying to make good use of a trip to town.
My son was VERY cranky after his shots, especially that young. He wouldn't let me put him down for hours. It depends on the baby really, you will know if you will be able to go shopping after. Try giving him/her tylenol before the shots and it's possible your baby will sleep after. I guess it depends on the baby, but the tetanus shot goes right into the muscle which is painful for an adult - nevermind a baby.How cranky was your baby after shots?
Get the stuff Girl!! Just feed jamie after his shots and go. He will probably fall asleep.



As for jamie shots he may be fussy. Give him some tylenol about 30 minutes BEFORE taking him. It will hurt less and already be in his system working. Hunter would cry for a good 10 minutes and his legs were really sore and a bit swollen for the day. They say if they get a fever it will be about a week later. That was hunters case this time : [ He got a fever of 102 a week after his shots. He also got a double ear infection and was teething. So It could have just been from that and not the shots.

My son wasn't cranky at all. Just sleepy. I went shopping after leaving the dr's office, and he slept the whole time. I had tylenol with me just in case, but I didn't use it.

He's 7 mo now, and has had shots several times, and never is cranky. His legs are tender to touch where the shots were administered, but other than that, he is the exact same, happy baby he always is!
My daughter screamed her head off during the shots and I just cried and cried with her. After she calmed down she slept for about 4-5hrs. They tell you to give them infant's tylenol before the shots but I didn't give her any and she was fine. It was just the prick of the needles that upset her.
Depends on how your baby reacts. With Ryan we went to Target right after the shots, he was fine passed out asleep.



A few hours later at home, he was screaming in pain for a few hours! =[



He woke a few times in the night too. The tylenol helped a lot with the pain so make sure you bring some!
Give him some tylenol about 30 minutes before you get his shots. He should be fine for a while. That night he might get a little cranky and he may run a little fever. Just keep giving him the tylenol for a day or two and he will be fine.
My son did fine on shot days. Of course, he screamed and cried at the doctor's office, but by the time we left he was asleep and he usually is knocked out the rest of the day. Keep some baby tylenol on hand..they say to give them some of that if they act like they are in pain.
The first ones were the worst. Thinking back, she didnt cry a lot, just lethargic, wanted to sleep all the time, slight temp and decreased appetite. The next day she was fine. And all other shots after never really affected her at all.
Every baby like an individual is different my first was always fine after shots just sleepy, as for my second he was sleepy after and and ended being very fussy for the next 2 days and ran a fever for 15 hrs after.
my baby just slept most of the day away i gave him tylonel for pain and what not and or fever b/c the shots cause fever and he slept!!! he only woke up to eat and get changed! =]
not at all, had her 16 week shots today, she didnt cry for first one cried for other two today but was fine after. it depends, my friends son cried for ages after his but lily has been fine after all 3 and now none til 12 months....yey!
It will be fine. I've never had a cranky child after shots. I give a dose of Tempra about an hour prior to the shots and they've always been great afterwards.
My daughter never had any side effects. I know in the beginning she slept after wards..She goes in for her 9 month check up this week..I'll keep my fingers crossed lol..But yea, you're gonna be good to go. :)
No, you'll be fine! After my sons 8 week shots he slept for 4 hours and was a little cranky later but it was fine! Go treat yourself Momma!
At 8 weeks old he will more than likely be sleeping during your shopping.
