How much of a tip should I have left? TGI fridays?
we ordered 2 orders of nachos [which were free we had 2 coupons for any 2 free appetizers].. and 2 orders of fries, and kids meal. The bill came to %26amp;15.30......not including two free appetizers....how much of a tip should have left?
Is your tip supposed to be your actual BILL amount or what the bill should have been?? because if it was full price the bill should have been $32 ish, ThanksIs your tip supposed to be your actual BILL or...?
the standard for tipping is before discount. In addition, the standard is 15% of the pre-tax amount. Everybody who is now touting 20% as the norm are either people with too much money or are servers themselves.
I realize in the states servers do not get wages that we have in Canada, but a great server will make 15-25 % on a regular basis
Your server is working just as hard for you as they would be if you were paying full price. So you should tip them as though you are paying full price. Anytime I use a coupon or discount on my bill I tip the difference, and my bill is still cheaper because the discount is the tip. (I get a free appetizer for $8..tip at least $8...and I'm still paying less than I would be without the discount after tip.) But that's coming from a server who knows how much it sucks to get screwed over by coupons. :pIs your tip supposed to be your actual BILL or...?
The tip should be on the total bill before any coupons. The fact is that the people who waited on your table, cooked the meal, bused the table etc. all had to work just as hard as if you were paying full price.
To the people who think 10% is a fair tip please leave 18-20% if ur leavings that low a server might have. Tip the bussers, host, food runners and bartender out of other tables tops and that's not fair when they get paid only 2.88 or less
i couldnt have said it better than the person above. you should tip on the full amount (not including tax), regardless if they give you free food, or you have coupons.
Tip on the total amount. Some people say to double the tax, but if the service was good, tip 20% of the total bill.
tip off of what the bill would have been if you had not used coupons.
20% of $32.00 = $7.00 Any less and you didn't do right.
